Prej më shumë se 10 vitesh ushtron praktikën profesionale si psikoterapiste me të rinj dhe të rritur pranë Qendrës së Psikoterapisë “Analitica” në Tiranë. Prej 3 vitesh tashmë drejton grupin e parë të saj terapeutik. Ka një përvojë disavjeçare në supervizimin profesional individual dhe në grup për profesionistët e shëndetit mendor dhe të shërbimeve psikosociale.

Karrierën e saj e ka nisur si psikologe klinike në Qendrën Komunitare të Shëndetit Mendor, nr.2, Tiranë. Ka qenë e përfshirë në projekte të ndryshme të Organizatës Botërore të Shëndetësisë – Shqipëri si dhe organizata të tjera për zhvillimim e shërbimeve të shëndetit mendor në Shqipëri. Gjithashtu ka punuar si pedagoge e jashtme pranë Departamentit të Psikologjisë dhe atij të Punës Sociale, (FSHS) ku kontributi i saj ka qenë kryesisht në fushën e psikoterapisë.

• Ka përfunduar studimet për Psikologji pranë Universitetit të Tiranës. Është diplomuar në vitin 2000 në degën e Psikologjisë Klinike.
• Në vitin 2007 është çertifikuar nga Shoqata Europiane për Psikoterapi në modalitetin psikonalitik/psikodinamik http://www.europsyche.org/ecp.
• Ka përfunduar kursin e kualifikimit në Analizë Grupi 2019-2023 ofruar nga Instituti i Analizës së Grupit (IGA) – Londër UK.
• Në vitin 2011 ka përfunduar studimet master në ‘Drejtim dhe menaxhim i institucioneve shëndetësore’ (UNIZKM).
• Është anëtare themeluese dhe Sekretare e Përgjithshme e Shoqatës Shqiptare për Psikoterapinë, anëtare e Group Analysis Society International.

From many years now she practices individual psychotherapy in the Center for Psychotherapy “Analitica” with young people and adults. She is running her first therapeutic group from 2021 to present. She has a long experience in individual and group supervision with mental health professionals and psychosocial service’s staff.

Sonila has started her career as a clinical psychologist in the Community Mental Health Center, no.2 in Tirana. She has been involved in several WHO-Albania and other organizations’ projects on the development and promotion of mental health services in Albania. She has worked as well as a part time lecturer in the Social Work and Psychology Department (SSF), where her main contribute has been in the “Introduction to psychotherapy” module.

• She has finished her studies in Clinical Psychology in 2000, at the University of Tirana, Faculty of Social Sciences.
• In 2007 she completed the training in Psychotherapy (Psychoanalytic/ Psychodynamic modality) and gained the European Certificate for Psychotherapy http://www.europsyche.org/ecp.
• She has completed the qualification course in Group Analysis certified by the Institute of Group Analysis London, UK.
• She has also a master degree in Direction and Management of Health Care Institutions (UNIZKM).

She is the founder member and General Secretary of the Albanian Association for Psychotherapy. She is a member of Group Analysis Society International.
