Prof. As. Izela Tahsini punon si psikoterapiste e çertifikuar në Qendrën e Psikoterapisë, Tiranë, që nga krijimi i saj në vitin 2004. Ajo mban Çertifikatën Europiane të Psikoterapisë http://www.europsyche.org/ecp Fushat e saj kryesore të interesit janë psikoterapia, puna me fëmijët, etj. Ajo ka një eksperiencë 16-vjeçare në këshillim dhe psikoterapi me klientë me nevoja dhe probleme diverse. Në fushën e psikoterapisë mban gjithashtu diplomën Bachelor i Shkencave në Psikoterapi, dhënë nga Universiteti ‘Zigmund Frojd’ në Vienë dhe po punon tezën e Masterit në të njëjtin Universitet. Është Kryetare e Shoqatës Shqiptare të Psikoterapisë. Që nga viti 2009 ajo gjithashtu është Këshilluese Ndërkombëtare për PPC Worldwide (Positive People Company), Britani e Madhe (ofrues global i programeve të asistencës së punonjësve – EAP). Ajo gjithashtu i ofron supervizim individual dhe në grup stafit të një sërë organizatash jofitimprurëse në vend, si dhe profesionistëve individualë.

Që nga viti 2002, Zj. Tahsini është pedagoge në Departamentin e Punës Sociale dhe Politikës Sociale, FSHS, UT, ku jep lëndët: Hyrje në Psikoterapi, Puna Sociale me Familjet, Teori feministe, Puna sociale në Shkolla, etj. Në fushën e punës sociale ajo mban gradën Doktor (përveç diplomës Bachelor dhe Master) dhe ka punuar tezën e doktoraturës mbi Problematikën e Abuzimit të Fëmijëve dhe rolin e Punonjësit social shkollor.

Assoc.Prof. Izela Tahsini works as a Certified Psychotherapist at the Center of Psychotherapy, Tirana, since its creation in 2004. She holds the European Certificate of Psychotherapy http://www.europsyche.org/ecp Her main fields of interest are: psychotherapy, working with children, etc. She has sixteen years of experience in counseling and psychotherapy with clients with diverse backgrounds and needs. In the psychotherapy field she has also a Bachelor on Psychotherapy Science, from ‘Sigmund Freud’ University, Vienna and is working on the Master thesis at the same university. She is the Chairman of the Albanian Association for Psychotherapy. Since 2009, she is also International/Affiliate Counselor for PPC Worldwide (Positive People Company), Great Britain (global provider for employee assistance programs – EAP). She has also been offering individual and group supervision to the staff of several non-profit organizations in the country and to individual practitioners, too.

Since 2002, Ms. Tahsini is a full-time lecturer at the Department of Social Work and Social Policy, FSS, UT, where she has been teaching: Introduction to Psychotherapy, Social Work with Families, School Social Work, Feminist Theory, etc. In the social work field she has a Ph.D. (a Master’s and Bachelor’s Degree, also), and her thesis was on ‘Child Abuse and the Role of the School Social Worker’.
